This Diagram looks really complicated. It really isn't. The basic idea is that when you pull the trigger the hammer is pulled back and it compresses a spring in the gun stock. Also in the gun stock are the bullets. Pistols can carry more bullets that revolvers. Once the trigger is all the way back the hammer is released hitting the primer and shooting the bullet.
